GABRIELIS FOUNDATION

CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
The Gabrielis Foundation has been supporting a diverse range of nonprofit activities in the Czech Republic since 2015. Since its
inception, it has contributed to numerous projects, including those of the Paraple Center, the Alzheimer Foundation, the preser-
vation of the ruins of Zlenice Castle in the Posázaví region, the piano competition Young Pianists Play Steinway & Sons, a Czech
scientific team working to protect endangered species in Sumatra, and various smaller initiatives.
One of the foundation’s most significant activities is organizing the literary competition for children and youth, the Ivona Březinová
Award. In 2024, the winners of its sixth edition were announced.
The foundation’s support is financed through the sale of pens from the PenMaster collection. For every pen sold, 0,03 CZK are
donated to the Gabrielis Foundation and subsequently used for nonprofit and charitable purposes.
LITERARY COMPETITION FOR CHILDREN
IVONA BŘEZINOVA AWARD
The awards ceremony for the sixth annual youth literary competition, orga-
nized by the Gabrielis Foundation, took place on September 18, 2024, at the
Klementinum of the National Library in Prague. The prizes for the winners, se-
lected from over 200 participants, were presented by the competition’s patron,
author Ivona Březinová.
In the afternoon, a traditional discussion session was held with the winners,
Ivona Březinová, and her guest, Petr Eliáš, editor-in-chief at Albatros Publishing.
The winning stories have been published in a collection available for download
on the competition’s website.
The main partners of the competition are the National Library of the Czech
Republic, the College of Journalism, and Albatros Media.
MUSIC COMPETITION FOR CHILDREN
YOUNG PIANISTS PLAY ON A STEINWAY & SONS PIANO
Seven dozen children across six categories, ranging from the youngest par-
ticipants to twelve-year-old pianists, took part in the nationwide competition
Young Pianists Play on a Steinway & Sons Piano on May 25 and 26. The compe-
tition, designed for children under twelve, was hosted for the thirteenth time
by the Gymnasium and Music School of the Capital City of Prague. All fi rst-prize
winners earned the opportunity to perform at the Winners’ Matinee and par-
ticipate in a masterclass with Ivan Klánský, held on
November 9 this year. The Gabrielis Foundation has been
supporting this competition since 2018.
